Some people love the idea of spending all day sitting in front of a computer, writing code to make amazing websites and web apps that are useful, fun, or both.

Others…not so much. And that might make you feel like tech isn’t for you. But that’s so far from the truth! There are so many awesome jobs in tech that don’t require coding all day. Some hardly require coding at all.

There are many career options in the IT field which do not at all require coding and will pay you good money with experience in the field. These all are high in demand now.

1.Data Analyst

You’ve heard the job title “data analyst” floating around lately and it sounds like an intriguing career. The idea of working with data and technology has piqued your curiosity, but what are all the skills required?

  • Have moderate math and statistical skills
  • Have a strong business acumen
  • Have moderate computer science / coding skills
  • Develop key performance indicators
  • Create visualizations of the data
  • Utilize business intelligence and analytics tools

So what does a data analyst do? A lot more than you might think. Now that you know the teamwork, technical skills and strategizing that go into this up-and-coming profession, you may be considering a data analysis career yourself.

2.UI/UX Designer

Every designer, at one point or another, has been faced with the dilemma of wondering if they will need to learn how to code to be successful. In today’s world of UX unicorns, where companies post job descriptions requesting UX designers who also code, it can leave you wondering, “Do UX designers need to code to make it in this industry?”

If you are wondering this same thing, here’s the answer: Great UX design does not require coding abilities.

Technical Writer:

Technical writers don’t have to know and use a programming language as developers do. The goal of tech writers is to be familiar with the different concepts, have an ability to read the code and other basic skills.

Of course, to know the language more in-depth is better because it allows you to create high-quality content, work on different projects. However, some technical writers still don’t know a programming language because they haven’t faced any issues, and that’s also ok.

  • Teaching Skills.
  • Concentration Ability.
  • Interpersonal Skills.
  • Take Criticism Lightly.
  • Professionalism.

SEO Specialist:

SEO specialists are marketing professionals who use research and analysis to improve a website's ranking on search engines like Google. They find the most popular and relevant keywords used in search engine queries and insert them into websites, helping search engines find those sites and display them to web users. SEO specialists can work in digital marketing agencies or at in-house marketing departments.

You do NOT need to learn coding to get SEO results.

All you need to do as an SEO expert is to know how to identify technical issues. You can then work with a developer who will fix everything.

System Administrator:

Needless to say, every organization in the tech world requires a professional (or you can say a team of professionals) who is responsible for tasks like setting up systems for employees, troubleshooting software malfunctions, setting up servers, backing up files, and many others. And a System Administrator does this for them.

To get a job as a System Admin, you need to have a good understanding of general operating systems, networking concepts, system security, databases, etc. Also, you should have good communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. There are various renowned IT certifications that can help you to get a job and start your professional career conveniently as a System Admin.

  • Networking.
  • Cloud.
  • Automation and Scripting.
  • Security and Monitoring.
  • Account Access Management.
  • IoT/Mobile Device Management.
  • Scripting Languages.

There are numerous other non-coding tech jobs also such as Growth Hacker, Software Quality Tester, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Information Architect, Operations Manager, etc. What all you need to do is identify your interest, skills, and requirements – and pick out the relevant career option for yourself…!!
